i have heard that some fondue place in Asheville is a good desert place...someone may know. I have not been there myself, but since we are making V-day suggestions I figured I would throw that out there.

^^^ youre talking about the Melting Pot... as far as I know it closed down a few years ago after the big flood that happened.

And Beau, its been forever since ive been to Black Forest, but when i did go I ate free because my old band played at their october fest party.

id imagine that the prices would be comprable to a hi-end chain restaurant ie carabbas or olive garden.

Yeah I take her to the Melting Pot every year for her birthday, been going for 6 years now. But we went this past new years and they have slacked off big time. You used to get a whole bottle of Champinge with your meal, this year it was just a glass. Last year they had party favors and the placed was decorated for new years, this year it was more like a retirement home. I wasnt too impressed. But we are still going to go for her birthday again, and hopefully it will be as good as it usually is, I reckon they scaled back because of the economy. Anyhow I actually decided to get some reservations at the Red Rocker Inn in Black Mountain, I was told by some people local that they have some of the best Prime Rib ever and that the environment and setting up there is quite nice, so Im going to give it a try.

Thanks a ton for all of yalls suggestions, you made my choice easier and harder, so many places, thanks again.

Old Europe just closed, if I remember reading the article in the paper correctly.
The men are combing the desert!

    Have they found anything yet?

It's good, but it's $$. Not saying it isn't worth it, we ate there when it was in their test run. $10/person for charity donation.

We had 3 people and got

    1 app
    3 meals
    2 desserts

For a special occasion it's a great place. Friend of a friends dad owns it.
